Chrisette Michele @ Ramshead Recap

I have been to a lot of concerts where Chrisette Michelle was part of the lineup but I could never really hear her clearly possibly due to her unique voice and the size of the venues in which she performed. So I was pretty excited to see her at Ramshead in Baltimore as it is by far my favorite standing room only venue. I arrived at 8:30 and the concert clearly started at 8pm sharp with no opening act. She sang a couple songs including “If I Have My Way” with a jazzy break down at the end. Then she introduced the first of two backup singers and disappeared from the stage as the rest of the band was introduced and was given some solo time. The guitar player and the drummer killed it. Once each band member had done there solo, a hyped man got on stage and it basically seemed like he was buying time for Chrisette. About 20-25 minutes later Chrisette comes back on stage and does a few more songs from her new album “Let Freedom Ring” and she ended the show with “Blame it on Me”. It was nice to finally be able to hear her voice clearly as it is unique and beautiful. Unfortunately when I looked at my watch its was 9:30. I figured with 3 albums that we would get a bit more show. Most concert goers were still standing around the stage anticipating an encore that did not come to fruition.
